And the winner of these two Jesus Calling books is . . .
Judy
who said,
“ I’ve really benefited from journaling as well…
to apply the Word to my life, to pray it to God,
and also to remember what I’m learning!
I haven’t read this book yet, but I’ve heard good things from friends.”

I had been hearing frequently from friends in various parts of the country, that this book has been a great source of comfort and inspiration to them in daily life, as well as in their grief as they walked through valleys of great loss and sorrow. So when the opportunity came to review this book, I jumped for it!
Jesus calling~Enjoying Peace in His Presence by Sarah Young and published by Thomas Nelson Publishers is a daily devotional book written as though Jesus were speaking to you in first person. Here is one day’s entry:
“Seek My Face, and you will find not only My Presence but also My Peace.
To receive My Peace, you must change your grasping,
controlling stance to one of openness and trust.
The only thing you can grasp without damaging your soul is My hand.
Ask My Spirit within you to order you day and control your thoughts,
for the mind controlled by the Spirit is Life and Peace.
You can have as much of Me and My Peace as you want,
through thousands of correct choices each day.
The most persistant choice you face is whether to trust Me or to worry.
You will ever run out of things to worry about,
but you can choose to trust Me no matter what.
I am an ever-present help in trouble.
Trust Me, through the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.
Romans 8:6; Psalm 46:1-2

Since this is a daily devotional book, I have not had the time to read each entry, but what I have read has been a blessed call to trust and rest in the Lord! The words are not direct Scriptural quotes, but thoughts derived from Scripture that is listed at the bottom of each devotional reading.
It’s easy to fall into the routine of reading the Word, but failing to receive the Words of Life from the heart of God to me personally. Journaling as I read has been a great help in this over the years {a way to pray and speak God’s Words back to Him}, and I find this book, Jesus Calling, to be another helpful tool in reminding me of the personal nature of my relationship to Jesus and how He wants His words to impact my daily walk.
If you would like a chance to read this book for yourself {as well as a copy of the children’s edition, Jesus Calling~365 Devotions for Kids}, please leave a comment with as little as a smiley face or a word or two . . . just to let me know you’ve entered.
{US Mailing addresses only please}. This giveaway will close February 15th and your books will ship shortly thereafter. Thank you.
{PS. Also come back later this week for another giveaway that I am quite excited about! If you have a little person in your life or need a great baby gift, I know you will be pleased!}
