Our House in Progress.

March 2012~ Our Property

March 3, 2012~ Clearing some trees & moving dirt.
Phil’s brother David gave countless hours to this part of the project!

March 8, 2012~Burying tree stumps and digging the basement.

March 11~ Children with Uncle David in the Digger
And the Basement Footer is being poured.

March 12, 2012~ Basement Walls being poured!

March 17, 2012~The Sub-floor, or at least a good start on it . . .

{{Framing Week}}
Phil’s BIL from SC headed up this project,
with all of the other BIL’s and brothers
and several uncles and friends giving of their time
all week long to help us out.
It felt like we had our own personal
Amish barn raising!
We are so, so grateful to them all!!

March 20th~First floor walls can be seen from the end of my drive!

Yay! Jonathon is building the stairs.

These sweet cousins played outside from morning til night almost every single day.
Covered in dirt, but happy as could be!

March 21st ~ The second floor walls are going up.

March 22~Uncle Paul installing windows & doors

Our house as of Saturday, March 24th!
Framing almost complete {just a few walls upstairs that Phil can finish.}
Everything was shingled . . . just as the rain began to fall on Saturday morning.
What a blessing!

It was a fun week with the entire Nissley family around.
Lots of work, food, and fellowship.
{Oh, and the food/cooking support from the women of the Nissley family,
and even Aunt Rose was amazing as well!! Thanks to you all.}
I think we all probably really appreciated a restful Sunday this week!

    I know that exciting feeling, that was us exactly one year ago! Hope it continues to go well, the fun decision making part is still to come, overwhelming at times but great to see the end results

    Oh, I feel all of the excitement of last summer again as I look at your pictures of your house going up! So humbling, isn’t it, to have so much amazing help from family and friends? I’m feeling emotional just remembering HOW BLESSED we felt to have such and amazing group of people around us as we built – looks like you’ve had an amazing crew so far as well! (of course I am pregnant so emotions are kinda tricky right now…but still!;)). May the rest of your building be blessed!!
